People Operations Manager

Profile of the People Operations Manager

The People Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing logistical resources which serve the ministries of Lake Avenue Church, as we make disciples of Jesus. They shall lead by example, proclamation, and exhortation, in concert with the Lake Avenue Church Ministry Plan.

The People Operations Manager supports the Church Operations department by providing leadership and management in the areas of Human Resources (HR) and Event Services. They will support the office of the Executive Director with day to day management of church business operations by administering and coordinating church policies and procedures. The People Operations Manager provides leadership, management, development and spiritual care for the Event Services Department’s staff and volunteers.

Lake Ave Church is looking for a candidate who is highly organized, spiritually mature, is relational, loves to serve people, is fun, and has capacity to build, lead, and empower a team of others. We are looking for a creative problem solver with demonstrated leadership skills. Important to this position are the following:

  • The Manager is part of the Church Operations team, reporting to the Executive Director of Church Operations, working alongside ministry leaders in Campus Operations, Communications, and Finance.
  • The Manager supervises and oversees a team of paid and volunteer Event Services staff.
  • They will connect and communicate well with the entire staff team.
  • They will have strong character with good judgement as demonstrated by their strong and growing relationship with Jesus. They will live a Biblical lifestyle that honors Christ and aligns with the mission, vision, and beliefs of Lake Avenue Church.

There are also areas that make this position unique. The Manager supports the ministries of the church through organizational development and health. They are key to equipping others to serve the church ministry in alignment with our vision and mission and must be able to administrate HR functions with a Biblical perspective. They will understand federal, state, and local employment laws.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management, Business Administration and/or equivalent experience in a church or nonprofit environment. An HR Certification is a plus.

Pay range: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
