Food Service Manager

Kingdom One is partnered with a multi-site christian camp located in Fresno County, CA. This relational focused camp is looking to grow their team by adding a Food Service Manager.

Vision for this role

The Food Service Manager’s primary responsibility is to take charge of the Food Service Department of the Hume Lake Camps to support the mission of “creating distraction-free environments where people can encounter Jesus Christ and experience Gospel At Play. 

What you’ll do:

  • Oversee the department of Food Service at the Hume Lake location.  
  • Develop and maintain strategic goals based on organizational needs.
  • Supports the Senior Director of Guest Relations by ensuring the organization’s philosophy of guest experience, mission and vision are pertinent and practiced within food service.
  • Build healthy relationships with all people who work in and for food service, and cooperate with other departments for the planning of events, parties and special meals.
  • Exude a friendly attitude and meet the needs of all food service customers.
  • Leverage strengths of the current team members, and develop training programs to maximize and reach optimal individual and organizational growth and goals.
  • Communicate clearly with staff at all levels of the organization, creating a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Exhibit full understanding of purchasing and managing a large budget; responsible for controlling costs, and optimizing efficiency.
  • Develop menus to accommodate varied guests while controlling costs and staying within budget.
  • Oversee 5 kitchens during the peak season.

Our ideal candidate:

  • Must be willing to live on-site at Hume Lake.
  • Has 5+ of demonstrated management experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field preferred. 
  • Has an evidenced commitment to the Christian faith and a desire to share the knowledge of Jesus Christ with others.
  • Is committed to leading team members by modeling Christ and living the gospel daily.
  • Willing to adjust hours to accommodate the fluctuating needs of the job.
  • Demonstrates skills, knowledge and experience in commercial food service.
  • Is experienced in managing a multi-million-dollar budget including but not limited to food and supply purchases, labor, capital expenditures, and budget preparation.
  • Is knowledgeable in and ability to oversee a varied array of service styles such as cafeteria, family, buffet service along with restaurant.
  • Is able to maintain all health department standards within all areas of responsibility.

Salary Range: $66,560 – $68,000
